RIL, together with Boehringer Ingelheim, launched the Cities that Care program, an initiative that strengthens local governments’ capacity to detect, respond to, and coordinate during health emergencies, with a focus on strokes.
The program brings together 12 cities: 11 from northern Argentina —Salta, Cafayate, Metán, Orán, Rosario de la Frontera, Tartagal, General Güemes, San Salvador de Jujuy, Humahuaca, San Miguel de Tucumán, and Yerba Buena— and one from Buenos Aires Province: San Miguel.
They work collaboratively to improve response times and coordination among health system actors.
The process begins with a diagnostic to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. From there, teams design solutions, build capacities, and develop more effective protocols.
Strokes are one of the leading causes of disability and mortality. Improving response requires coordination among multiple actors, from early detection to care and follow-up.
Cities that Care drives this coordinated effort, promoting faster, more integrated, and more equitable responses.
