Last week, the RIL Brazil Environment Community held its launch at the Museu do Amanhã in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together cities committed to tackling challenges related to climate, waste, nature, and environmental justice.
The meeting brought together representatives from all regions of the country — from the Amazon to the coast, from the semi-arid region to major urban centers — and made one thing clear: the environmental agenda does not belong to a single territory; it requires a coordinated, network-based response.
Through this space, the community aims to foster the exchange of experiences, test solutions, and strengthen public policies that care for both people and the environment in an integrated way.
In this context, one of the highlights was the exchange led by the Department of Environment of Amargosa (BA), which presented a concrete example of how to integrate technology into environmental management.
Under the leadership of Francelle Ferretti, the municipality developed a system to map actions — such as nurseries, at-risk trees, and real-time requests — improving decision-making and responsiveness.
In addition, Amargosa has been promoting initiatives such as Amar + Verde, Plantar Águas, and the Municipal Composting Program, showing how innovation can translate into impactful public policies.
We continue learning from those leading these transformations.
