Rede de Inovação Local (RIL) Brasil, in partnership with the Van Leer Foundation, announces the selection of eight municipalities in the state of Sergipe to participate in the Early Childhood and Care Program, an initiative designed to strengthen municipal management to advance early childhood development and recognize the value of care work.
The Program will support municipal teams in developing tools to coordinate efforts, plan, organize data, and manage comprehensive early childhood and care policies. Throughout the process, municipalities will work on developing or revising a municipal early childhood and care plan and designing and implementing actions, with support from facilitators and mentors specializing in the field.
The selected municipalities are:
Aracaju
Arauá
Itabi
Maruim
Moita Bonita
Pacatuba
Propriá
Riachão do Dantas
Over ten months, these eight cities will take part in a process that combines assessment, planning, implementation of practical actions, and evaluation of results. The Program will be delivered online, with an estimated commitment of 16 hours per month.
The Program offers individualized support from RIL facilitators, mentoring by experts, and thematic training through Academia RIL, an online learning platform. It also includes group sessions with other cities, engagement with key local stakeholders, and access to best practices implemented in leading cities.
Participation will be free of charge for the selected municipalities. The costs of delivering the Program will be fully covered by the initiative’s partners, providing full scholarships to all participating municipalities.
By combining planning, training, and implementation, the Program aims to strengthen municipal teams’ capacity to manage comprehensive early childhood and care policies and translate identified priorities into concrete local actions.
RIL Brasil and the Van Leer Foundation congratulate the eight selected municipalities and their teams. Their selection marks the beginning of a journey of learning and collaboration to strengthen public policies that value care and contribute to children’s development from their earliest years.
