In a context where trust in institutions is under strain, something new is beginning to take shape: more voices, more spaces, and new ways to participate in public life.
Local governments, organizations, and communities are experimenting with different ways of making decisions: participatory budgeting, citizens’ assemblies, and collaborative platforms. From RIL, we participated alongside 9 representatives from 5 projects of the Local Innovators Program (PIL) 2024 and 2025, promoted together with Ashoka.
During those days, we exchanged learnings, discovered initiatives from other countries, and strengthened networks with those driving new forms of participation. Cities transform when people get involved.
