Red de Innovación Local (RIL), together with the Centre for Public Impact (CPI), will hold the second edition of Alcaldes + Innovadores, bringing together 25 mayors from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, and Uruguay.

The objective of this gathering is to connect with global innovation trends, gain tools to advance their vision for their cities, and build a learning community with peers and key partners to accelerate this transformation.

Among the outcomes this edition seeks to promote are the creation of a community of leading mayors from across the region who can foster collaboration for innovation, the development of new innovative solutions being implemented in different cities, and concrete progress in the quality and effectiveness of public policies in Latin America.

This is the second edition of the program, which this time is being carried out through a partnership between RIL and CPI. In a context where urban challenges demand bold responses, RIL believes that transformation begins at the local level. That is why we have partnered with CPI —a global learning organization that builds resilient and prosperous societies by reimagining how governments work— as a strategic partner for this new stage of the program.

The gathering in Panama is also the result of a co-creation process between Red de Innovación Local (RIL), the Centre for Public Impact (CPI), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD), who jointly designed the agenda and learning experience for the program's 2026 cohort, combining RIL's deep territorial knowledge with the global methodological frameworks of its partners. This joint effort will focus on:

• Designing cutting-edge training and mentoring spaces.
• Providing practical tools that put people at the center of public policies.
• Strengthening a community of leaders capable of sustaining and scaling change in their cities.
