The San Miguel team, led by RIL ninja María Eugenia Battafarano, won the IA 10MIL Challenge and traveled to São Paulo for an exchange and learning experience alongside the RIL Brazil team.
During the trip, they visited some of the spaces currently driving new ways of collaboration between governments, companies, and startups across the region.
One of those spaces was Cubo Itaú, the largest open innovation hub in Latin America, where they learned how startups, corporations, and investors work together to accelerate digital transformation processes. They also met with startups focused on applied artificial intelligence, gaining ideas, contacts, and concrete examples to help imagine new tools for local governments.
They also visited Google’s offices, where they discussed tools and data already helping improve public decision-making, while learning about initiatives related to the strategic use of environmental information and AI adoption.
Another key meeting during the trip was with the City of São Paulo, where the team had the opportunity to learn firsthand how the city is incorporating artificial intelligence into public management to improve processes, services, and its relationship with citizens.
Beyond each visit, one of the most valuable aspects of the trip was the connection between the teams from Argentina and Brazil: sharing challenges, perspectives, and learnings, while understanding that the best ideas are also born through collaboration between cities and people from different parts of the region.
An experience that leaves inspiration, concrete learnings, and new tools to continue bringing AI closer to more local governments across Latin America.
